Act of 1980 establishing the Kolkata Municipal Corporation
Following Section 199 of the 1980 Kolkata Municipal Corporation Act,
“Every person engaged in any profession, trade, or calling in Kolkata as specified in Schedule IV, whether directly or through an agent or representative, shall obtain or renew a certificate of enlistment annually from the Municipal Commissioner upon presentation of an application in such form as the Municipal Commissioner may specify.”

Business Location

Individual
Apart from submitting the relevant papers and documentation, an individual must submit an affidavit or statement stating that the concerned individual (the business owner or another company representative) would be held accountable for any discrepancy or illegal action. Procedures for Submission

The individual may renew it by paying the applicable fee at the counters specified in the demand notice. Upon payment, the applicant will receive a demand notice, which will serve as the trading licence.
